Gillian Rodgers – Coach and Chairman

Gillian retired as Director of Sport at Tormead two years ago. Having been a big part of Wey Valley in the past, she was excited to return to the sport and club she loves and to bring her extensive coaching experience to the girls. Seeing every single girl develop and make progress is the biggest reward to sharing the love of our ‘beautiful game’. Whether it is physical, tactical or mental skills, Gillian is passionate about developing a range of training and playing skills that transition so well into life in general.
Jenny Shaw – Club Secretary

Jenny has always been a netball lover since school and university days though hasn’t played since initiating a parents’ team at her daughter Katie’s primary school! In 2006, when Katie was a member of Wey Valley, Jenny responded to a plea from Jayne for help running the club and has never looked back! As well as coaching the younger girls Jenny also manages the club admin as secretary and membership secretary and generally keeps us all on track!
She enjoys seeing the girls loving their netball and developing their skills and understanding of the game as they progress through the club.
Jayne Booth – Level 2 Coach

What is important to Jayne as a coach is to be player-centric. Her aim is to enable each player to understand their role in the team and maximise their performance. To do this, she aims to help players to acquire a range of physical skills and an appreciation of how and when to use them. She also emphasises mental skills including decision-making, resilience, tactical awareness and team work.
Being a good netball player is as much about their mental attitude as their physical aptitude and this is Jayne has tried to develop over her many years of coaching.
Kerry Twigg – Coach
Kerry is a very experienced player and has amazing enthusiasm for the game and will be continuing her coaching journey with us. As a coach she aims to develop individual skills and wants to create a dynamic team approach to the game. She encourages positivity and celebrates players progress both individually and as a team.
